1 Information We Collect

FastFix collects information to provide and improve our services. We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties.

Information Collected Automatically:

  • Location Data: With your permission, we collect your approximate or precise location to match you with nearby technicians or jobs. You can disable this in your device settings, though some features may not work without it.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and app version.
  • Usage Data: Pages and features you access, time spent, search queries, and interaction patterns within the app.
  • Log Data: IP address, access times, crash reports, and performance data.

2 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Providing the Service: Creating and managing your account, matching customers with nearby technicians, enabling job posting and offer submission.
  • Communication: Sending notifications about new offers, job updates, chat messages, and account activity.
  • Verification: Verifying technician identities and credentials to maintain platform safety.
  • Trust & Safety: Detecting fraudulent activity, enforcing our Terms of Service, investigating complaints, and removing bad actors.
  • Improving the Platform: Analyzing usage patterns to fix bugs, improve features, and build new ones.
  • Customer Support: Responding to your questions, resolving disputes, and providing assistance.
  • Legal Compliance: Meeting our obligations under Egyptian law and responding to lawful requests from authorities.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising on behalf of external advertisers.

3 Information Sharing

FastFix does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited information in the following circumstances:

Between Users (By Design):

  • When a customer posts a job, their service description and general area (not precise address) are visible to technicians in that area.
  • When a technician submits an offer, their public profile — name, photo, rating, specialization, and review history — is visible to the customer.
  • Personal phone numbers are never automatically shared between customers and technicians. All contact occurs through in-app chat unless a user voluntarily shares their number within the chat.

Service Providers: We work with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the platform (e.g., cloud hosting, push notifications, analytics). These vendors are contractually required to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or a legitimate request from Egyptian law enforcement or regulatory authorities.

Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of FastFix's assets, user data may be transferred as part of the transaction. You will be notified of any such change.

4 In-App Communication & Privacy

FastFix's in-app chat is designed with your privacy as the top priority. Your phone number is never automatically revealed to the other party. You are always in control of what personal information you choose to share in a conversation.

In-app messages are stored on FastFix servers to:

  • Allow you to access your conversation history
  • Enable dispute resolution if a complaint is raised
  • Detect and remove users who send abusive, threatening, or illegal content

FastFix staff may review flagged conversations as part of our trust and safety process. We do not read messages routinely or for commercial purposes.

5 Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. Specific retention practices:

  • Account Data: Kept for the duration of your account, plus up to 3 years after deletion for legal compliance purposes.
  • Job History & Reviews: Retained indefinitely as part of the platform's accountability system, even after account deletion. Reviews are anonymized if the account is deleted.
  • Chat Messages: Retained for 2 years from the date of the conversation, then deleted.
  • Verification Documents: Retained securely for up to 5 years in accordance with Egyptian regulatory requirements, then permanently deleted.
  • Usage & Log Data: Retained for up to 12 months for security and performance analysis.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through the app settings or by contacting us. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, subject to legal retention obligations.

6 Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it:

  • All data transmitted between your device and FastFix servers is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security).
  • Sensitive data such as passwords is stored using industry-standard hashing algorithms and is never stored in plain text.
  • Access to user data within FastFix is restricted to staff who need it to perform their job functions, under strict confidentiality obligations.
  • We conduct regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments of our platform.
  • Verification documents are stored in encrypted, access-controlled storage.

No method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take all reasonable precautions, FastFix cannot guarantee absolute security. If you suspect a security breach, contact us immediately at security@fastfix.eg.

7 Your Rights

As a user of FastFix, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Correction: You may update or correct inaccurate information through your account settings or by contacting us.
  • Right to Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Right to Data Portability: You may request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on your consent (e.g., location access), you may withdraw consent at any time through your device or account settings.
  • Right to Complain: You have the right to raise concerns about our data practices with the relevant Egyptian data protection authorities.

8 Children's Privacy

FastFix is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a user under 18 has created an account, we will promptly delete the account and all associated data.

9 Third-Party Services

FastFix uses a limited number of trusted third-party services to operate the platform. These may include:

  • Cloud Infrastructure: For secure data storage and app hosting.
  • Push Notification Services: To send you app notifications about jobs, offers, and messages.
  • Maps & Location Services: To display your location and nearby technicians on a map.
  • Analytics: To understand how the app is used and improve the experience (anonymized data only).
  • Payment Processing: If payment features are introduced, a licensed payment processor will be used. Their own privacy policy will apply to payment data.

FastFix does not integrate third-party advertising SDKs. Your data is not used for advertising targeting by any external party.

10 Changes to This Policy

FastFix may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
  • Notify you via a push notification or in-app message
  • In cases of significant changes, request your renewed consent where required by law

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of FastFix after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
